BREAKING NEWS: Birmingham City Announces Loan Agreement for Exceptional Fulham Midfielder…Read More

Luke Harris, an offensive midfielder for Fulham, signed a season-long loan agreement with Birmingham City, extending their successful summer transfer transaction. Harris had previously spent the second half of the previous season on loan at League One Exeter City.

The Wales Under-21 international has been invited into the senior team six times without earning his senior international debut. He was instrumental in his country’s most recent UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign.

Luke Harris hopes to further his promising career thus far.
Like many national talents in recent seasons, the Fulham academy graduate had excelled for the under-18s before making his debut at Premier League 2 level. Luke Harris, an offensive midfielder, was a crucial player for the Cottagers as they won the second division handily in 2021–2022, scoring 13 goals total, including four goals in a 5–3 victory over Burnley.

Harris and Fulham both performed well in the Professional Development League’s top division, helping the team to a fifth-place finish. At times, Harris was unstoppable; he scored all three goals in a 2-2 tie with champion Manchester City and in a victory over Chelsea. With just 17 appearances, he finished the season with 12 goals and 4 assists.

Harris was a star player for Exeter after signing on loan during the winter transfer window, but it was his first taste of senior football that made him a desired man this summer. His all-around skill and defensive input were equally as noteworthy as his offensive production, and he mostly played the position of number ten.

Over the course of the season, he finished in the top three for Exeter City’s successful tackles per game, but he only managed four goals and one assist in 21 appearances. Despite his advanced role, he was slightly outside the top five at the club in interceptions per game. With four goal involvements in his final six games of the season, Harris was a serious threat in the forward areas.

City of Birmingham Bringing Together a Star Squad
The Blues have already finalized deals for eleven new newcomers this summer, spending seven figures on several of these deals, after the announcement of the arrival of bright prospect Harris on a season-long loan. They are spending at a level never seen in this division, and with a roster full of superstars, manager Chris Davies has his picks for a League One squad.
