On Sunday night, the Celtics will continue to add depth to their front court as free agency gets underway. Just one hour after keeping Luke Kornet, a league source told MassLive that Boston had agreed to a multi-year contract with Neemias Queta. Queta’s new contract was first reported by Stadium’s Shams Charania.

Queta became a restricted free agent on the open market on Sunday night after the Celtics rejected his team option on Saturday. Despite declining the option, MassLive revealed on Saturday that the Celtics were keen to keep Queta on staff and now had the opportunity to lock him down with a long-term contract.

Last season, Queta played in 28 games for Boston, averaging 5.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.8 blocks, and 11.9 minutes per game—all career highs. After being waived by Sacramento, Queta was originally signed by the Celtics in August on a two-way contract. When Kristaps Porzingis and/or Al Horford weren’t available, Queta contributed significantly as a substitute player, eventually earning a promotion to the 15-man roster in April.

There are now 13 players under contract for the Celtics after Kornet and Queta signed. On Sunday night, Kornet signed a one-year contract with the Boston Celtics. A source claims that although Queta has a multi-year contract, it is unlikely to be totally guaranteed. Following the start of free agency, here is a deeper look at the Celtics’ current personnel situation:
