Alabama football’s Transfer Portal tracker: Who’s leaving and who’s joining?

When Kalen DeBoer took over as Alabama’s football coach in January, the Transfer Portal was one-way only. Nick Saban’s resignation created a 30-day transfer window for Alabama athletes, allowing competing teams to pillage the Tide’s roster.

With everyone else’s portal window closed, DeBoer was limited to keeping everybody he could on the present squad without replacing anyone who left. This time, the Transfer Portal works both ways, with DeBoer and his staff aggressively chasing roster upgrades and players that better fit his culture and system.

There will not be a big exodus of players entering the portal this time, but Alabama will still see plenty of players leave in search of better prospects and greater playing time elsewhere.

Here’s an up-to-date tracker of every Alabama athlete who has entered the portal, as well as DeBoer’s commitments/targets for the Tide:

Alabama players in the Transfer Portal:

  • DL Jeheim Oatis
  • LB Keanu Koht – committed to Vanderbilt
  • WR Kobe Prentice
  • DB Jahlil Hurley – committed to Kansas
  • WR Caleb Odom
  • WR Kendrick Law
  • OL Miles McVay
  • DL Hunter Osborne
  • OL Naquil Bertrand
  • TE Danny Lewis
  • QB Dylan Lonergan
  • RB Justice Haynes
  • DB DeVonta Smith
  • Alabama targets in the Transfer Portal:

    • Florida DL Kelby Collins
    • NC State WR Kevin Concepcion
    • Texas A&M DL Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy
    • Nebraska TE Nate Boerkircher
    • Virginia Tech CB Mansoor Delane
    • Mississippi State WR Mario Craver
    • The Transfer gateway started a 20-day window on December 9th, but according to On3’s Charlie Potter, because Alabama’s bowl game is played after the gateway window ends on December 29th, Tide players will have up to five days after the game to enter the portal. That means Alabama’s window won’t close until January 5. This will apply to any teams playing bowl games or College Football Playoff games after the portal window closes.
