A new team has joined Birmingham City in their pursuit of a Premier League striker….
According to a BBC Sport report, Cardiff City is interested in Fulham’s Jay Stansfield, a target for Birmingham City.
Under Erol Bulut, Cardiff City is searching for a new striker as they get ready for another season in the Championship. Last season, they were 11 points outside of the playoffs and finished 12th in the table.
Stansfield, 21, played for Birmingham City on loan during the previous season and was a big hit there even though the Midlands team was demoted to League One along with Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town. In 47 appearances, he scored 13 goals for the Blues across all competitions, 12 of which were in the league.

According to BBC Sport’s most recent update on his condition, the Bluebirds are keeping an eye on him during this window as they look to add fresh players to their roster. Thus far this summer, they have added defender Calum Chambers from Aston Villa and winger Chris Willock from QPR.
Cardiff City wants a striker
Football League teams other than Cardiff City and Birmingham City are also in the running to sign Stansfield. Hull City is also keen, according to a report from HullLive last month.
The young player left Exeter City for Fulham in 2019 and returned to the Grecians on loan in 2022.
