Josh Laurent, a midfielder for Stoke City, has piqued the interest of Birmingham City, according to BirminghamLive.
Last season, Laurent led Stoke in the Championship and made 37 appearances to help the Potters escape relegation at the expense of the Blues. The 29-year-old, who moved from Reading to the Potteries in 2022, has made 69 league appearances and scored five goals.
Now that Laurent is in the last 12 months of his contract, Stoke may be willing to let him go, and St Andrew’s has become a possible destination. This summer, Blues have welcomed four new players to their roster, and Alex Cochrane, a left-back for Hearts, appears destined to be the fifth.
The Blues are looking for a midfield player, and Laurent is a capable choice. Having participated in 155 of the 184 Championship games over the course of the last four seasons with Reading and Stoke, he has an outstanding availability record.
