A defender who was formerly being pursued by Chelsea has had a bid for him rejected by Birmingham City.
According to a source in Portugal, Blues have made a bid of about €3 million (£2.6 million) to recruit Filipe Relvas of Portimonense; however, additional money will need to be paid in order to acquire the defender.
Keep track of claims Portimonense promptly turned down Birmingham’s bid for Relvas. The second-tier Portuguese team reportedly wasn’t happy with the amount given and is looking for a higher payout.
Although it’s unclear how much Portimonense are willing to pay for Relvas, it seems like they’re not in a rush to part with their man. The 24-year-old central defender played in 32 games in the Portuguese first flight before to his relegation.
Relvas has been a fixture for a while; in the two seasons before the most recent one, he appeared 57 times in total. With less than two years left on his present deal and as a crucial player, it makes sense that Portimonense isn’t giving up.
