Birmingham City defeated Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 at Adams Park in League One

bstitutions proved to be decisive as Birmingham City claimed their first League One victory at Wycombe Wanderers.

Second half substitute Willum Willumsson netted the all-important goal in Blues’ 3-2 win at Adams Park. Debutant Ayumu Yokoyama also had an influence off the bench to set up Luke Harris for Blues’ second goal before Sam Vokes’ 90th minute strike made for an anxious finale.

Alfie May cancelled out Krystian Bielik’s own goal in the first half before Blues made their dominance count after half-time.

Bielik handed Wycombe striker Richard Kone the game’s first opportunity with a misplaced pass inside his own box. Kone managed to round Blues goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell but Marc Leonard saved the day with a perfectly timed recovery challenge.
