BREAKING NEWS: A Crystal Palace Player Done It After a 26-goal season, Crystal Palace misfits are likely to move for £30 million to European giants.

Seldom has it been more evident than when talking about a forward who, for the most part due to circumstances beyond his control, will not remember his brief and unpleasant time wearing the red and blue of Crystal Palace with any nostalgia.

Eyebrows were certainly raised when The Eagles paid £9 million to bring a little-known Alexander Sorloth to Selhurst Park back in 2018.

Sorloth had spent only a few months in Danish football with FC Midtjylland, after all. And many critics wondered if his sudden move to Palace was a classic case to ‘too much, too soon’.

A tally of one goal in 20 games – and none in the Premier League – certainly does not reflect well on Sorloth’s time in South London. But delve a little deeper and you will discover that 12 of his 16 top-flight appearances came from the bench.

The Norway international averaged only 33 minutes on the pitch per outing. With that in mind, no wonder Sorloth struggled to make much of an impression.
