BREAKING NEWS: ‘Scarred’ Dees escape another horrific Perth encounter; Freo’surgeon’ could be ‘AFL’s finest player’ — 3-2-1

The midfielders for Fremantle have placed the AFL on notice after completely dominating Melbourne in their 50-point victory on Sunday.

In a miserable first half at Optus Stadium, the undermanned Demons choked up a shocking 24-3 clearance count, embarrassing themselves in the process.

And they were never able to bounce back as the Dockers secured their place in the top four with a 17.14 (116) to 10.6 (66) victory.

However, the victory has a price: captain Alex Pearce is once again sidelined due to what appears to be a recurrence of his broken forearm.

The Dees had already given up 257 points to the Dockers in their two meetings this season, so it was a day to forget.

Nick Dal Santo of Fox Footy said that Melbourne was “scarred” after their Round 12 loss against the Dockers in Alice Springs, where they lost by 92 points.

It’s amazing to note that prior to Sunday’s crushing, the Demons had only let up more than 100 points twice all season—in the previous defeat to Melbourne and the shocking loss to the lowly West Coast.
