BREAKING NEWS:Summer League 2024: Bucks vs. Clippers recap….

The Clippers defeated the Bucks 112-97 to increase their record in the 2024 Las Vegas Summer League to 3-0.

Cam Christie

Christie had his most productive Summer League game to date, tallying 13 points on 4-13 shooting, including 3-10 from outside the arc. It’s possible that his three-point shooting is even better than anticipated; he can shoot a lot of threes every game and can get up and shoot against nearly anyone. He is a true weapon at his height since he can take threes off the catch, off movement, and even off the dribble. The rest of it doesn’t quite seem NBA ready, but Christie has had a good Summer League considering his age.

Brown Kobe

With 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in just 29 minutes, Kobe Brown’s performance was incredibly well-rounded, making it his finest game of the Summer League by a significant margin. Although his scoring efficiency remained low, it was encouraging to see him become more aggressive in his offensive play. The size on the boards was striking, and Kobe made some very excellent passes to draw attention from other players. Though Kobe’s defense can be difficult at times, this was a particularly impressive display of his unique dribble-pass-shoot skill set.

Jordan Miller

Miller, the leading scorer for the Clippers once again, finished with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 9–14 shooting, despite a dismal 3–9 performance from the free throw line. Aside from his free throws, Miller was a little more subdued offensively until the very end, when he scored seven points in the final thirty seconds to increase the Clippers’ lead. Nevertheless, Miller made two of his three three-pointers, finished strong in transition, hit a few terrific floaters, and once again displayed outstanding defense. Though there are some quibbles, Jordan has had an incredible Summer League overall.

Diabate Moussa

What a game Moussa plays. The big man was a constant source of energy, finishing with 21 points on 9–13 shooting, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Although he finished strong and sprinted hard on the break to acquire excellent position, nearly all of his buckets came in transition or on open looks around the rim. Although I’m still not sure if he can score enough to be a serious player in the NBA, this is the game plan for him: hustle, defend, rebound, and finish those simple shots. Well done!

Other Guys

It’s clear that the Clippers’ best two “other guys” on this team are RayJ Dennis and Elijah Harkless. Dennis continues to impress with his playmaking and overall steadiness at point guard. Nine points, 5 assists, and 3 steals is a nice statline, though I remain worried about his ability to score and be an offensive threat at the NBA level. Harkless is about as straightforward as it gets, a pesky on-ball defender at the point of attack who can hit open threes. At his size you’d wish he could do more with the ball in his hands, but I think his skillset is useful even if limited. Nobody else on the roster player much or stood out. I’ll just note Amari Bailey has been very disappointing, as he has a lot of talent and skill but horrible on-court decision-making.
