Kieran Dowell has expressed his intense grievances from his early Rangers days and said he is eager to move on.
When the 26-year-old playmaker first joined the team in May 2023, Michael Beale, the manager at the time, thought he had found a gem in the Norwich star. His ideal relocation to Ibrox, however, was marred by a persistent issue that prevented him from playing for several months. Dowell had to switch positions as a result of Gers’ injury concerns, which occasionally caused him trouble.
The Englishman is just now starting to feel some relief from his ordeal, which was made worse by an additional injury that caused him to miss ten games during a pivotal period of the season.
“It was quite annoying. Extremely annoying,” Dowell said. Being a central midfielder, a position I hadn’t really played before, I was obviously learning a new one. That was because of things like availability, but it was really annoying that injuries occurred in between. However, I feel better now.
“I’m feeling fresh, I’ve had a good rest over the summer and I’m fighting fit now.”
After recuperating from last term, Dowell received a rare start against Ross County; nonetheless, the match in Dingwall resulted in a 3-2 loss. That, he claims, worked against him as well. “It was evidently a difficult day for everyone player on the field during that matchup with County.
