Leeds Rhinos will extend the loan deal for Wigan Warriors prop Sam Eseh this week. The young forward has spent the last month at Headingley, starting in the club’s recent games against Warrington Wolves and Hull KR.
Eseh joined the club on an initial one-month loan, a period that came to an end on Sunday. However, Rugby League Live has learned that the clubs have agreed to extend the period of the loan, meaning he will remain in contention when the Rhinos head to Huddersfield Giants this Thursday.
It’s a boost for head coach Brad Arthur, who remains without a number of forwards, including Tom Holroyd, Mickael Goudemand and Justin Sangare. Holroyd currently faces an indefinite period on the sidelines, Goudemand is set to miss another three to five weeks of action while no timeframe has been set on Sangare’s return after he picked up a knee injury.
