Exclusive: Alex Cochrane will get a medical tomorrow in Birmingham as per the agreed upon contract.
Football Insider has been informed by sources that Hearts defender Alex Cochrane will have a medical examination at Birmingham City on Monday morning, July 15.
After a £1 million deal was agreed upon by both parties, the 24-year-old full-back will now visit the Blues’ training facility.
Following his physical on Monday, Cochrane will finalize an agreement to depart Scotland and join League One.
The aspirational Blues are making a lot of transfers in an attempt to get promoted from League One right away. This is just the most recent.
Defender Alex Cochrane of Hearts completes his medical examination with Birmingham City. Cochrane attended the Brighton academy and made his permanent move to Hearts in 2022 following an outstanding loan period in which he assisted the team in winning the Scottish Cup. He has represented England at the under-16 and under-20 levels, though the majority of his career appearances have been in Scotland.
Overall, the left-back has made 126 appearances for the club, 40 of which came last season as he also featured in the Europa Conference League. A move back to England proved tempting for Cochrane, however, with the opportunity to represent an ambitious Birmingham side proving too tough to turn down. The deal is expected to be completed within the coming days after final medical checks are concluded and a contract is officially signed at the Wast Hills training base.
