IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED: The first away game of Sheffield Wednesday’s 2024–2025 campaign has been confirmed.

The Carabao Cup away opener for Sheffield Wednesday in 2024–25 will take place on August 14.

Last week, it was officially announced that the Owls would play their first cup match of the season against Hull City; however, the date of the match was only specified to be the week of August 12.

A midweek match after Wednesday’s Championship game against Plymouth Argyle, which was scheduled for Sunday, August 11 at 4pm on Sky Sports Football, was always going to happen later than any teams playing on Friday or Saturday.

As Danny Röhl and his team continue to get ready for the upcoming weeks, the game’s date and time have already been revealed on Wednesday. They will be visiting East Yorkshire three days after hosting the Pilgrims at Hillsborough.

The team announced on its official website that the Owls’ Carabao Cup matchup against Hull will happen on Wednesday, August 14. At the MKM Stadium, the first round tie begins at 7:45 p.m. Details about the tickets will be verified eventually.

The two games Wednesday has scheduled between now and their first competitive match are against Alfreton Town this coming weekend and Leganes on August 3. However, with a trip to Germany also planned, it is believed that Röhl may have one or more more opportunities to test his team.
