BREAKING NEWS: Norwich City Transfer Deadline Day Updates and… Read More

Norwich City have until 11pm on Friday to complete their summer squad transfer overhaul under Ben Knapper and Johannes Hoff Thorup.

Sheffield United midfielder, Anis Slimane, is poised to become the Canaries’ seventh senior signing with a loan agreement in place. City are believed to have negotiated a buy option that under certain conditions may become a buy obligation at the end of this season.

Danish-bred Slimane emerged as the club’s primary midfield target this week after discussions with Real Madrid over a move for Brazilian Reinier reached an impasse around the potential buy clause.

City will also look to bring in another wide player should Abu Kamara depart on deadline day. The 21-year-old lodged a written transfer request recently.

Hull City head a clutch of Championship clubs, but the Tigers’ latest offer, a package in the region of £4m, submitted on Thursday afternoon falls short of the Canaries’ valuation.

Rangers turned down the club’s loan enquiry for wide player Rabbi Matondo, while Bournemouth’s Jaidon Anthony and Crystal Palace’s Jes Rak-Sakyi were both linked with Carrow Road loan moves this summer.

Thorup confirmed at Colney on Thursday deadline day would bring a flurry of loan exits for some of his younger talents. The likes of Ken Aboh and Jaden Warner have both attracted interest lower down the Football League.

City are also working on a deal for Dundee United’s 18-year-old forward, Brandon Forbes, as a potential addition to the club’s development pool in the short term.
