REPORT: South Sydney’s manager explains the delay in Demetriou’s firing while his representative criticizes the “very cruel” process

After firing coach Jason Demetriou on Tuesday night, Blake Solly, the manager of South Sydney, has responded angrily to the coach’s manager.

On Tuesday, the Rabbitohs scheduled an 8 a.m. board meeting; however, they adjourned for an hour, met again at 5 p.m., and fired the coach around two hours later.

Extended I have never witnessed a club board meet twice in one day to decide on a coach’s destiny, according to 9News reporter Danny Weidler.

Claiming that club chairman Nick Pappas “needed some sleep” because he was calling from London, where he is on a business trip, Solly clarified this to the media on Wednesday.
