With the goal of achieving “more success” with the Welsh team, James McClean has unexpectedly signed a new two-year contract with Wrexham.
Unexpectedly for the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned team, Wrexham has announced that McClean has agreed to a new, two-year contract at the SToK Cae Ras. After Wrexham was promoted to League One, the 35-year-old’s contract was automatically extended by another year. He first joined the team last year. He has now consented to new conditions that will allow him to play for the Red Dragons until 2026.

In League Two last season, McClean was a prolific part of the team with four goals and thirteen assists. Despite his astounding 15 yellow card total across all competitions, Wrexham has decided to keep the Irishman on staff for the foreseeable future despite his disciplinary history.
