The Cincinnati Reds farm system continues to impress as top prospect Alfredo Duno delivered a standout performance to lead the Dayton Dragons to a 5-0 win over the Lake County Captains.

Duno played a key role in the victory, going 2-for-4 with a walk and launching his first High-A home run—a solo shot in the fifth inning that extended the Dragons’ lead. The 20-year-old continues to impress early in the season, showcasing both power and discipline at the plate.

Through his first seven games, Duno has been on fire, posting strong numbers while displaying excellent plate control, drawing more walks than strikeouts and consistently producing extra-base hits. His performance builds on last season, where he dominated his league and earned MVP honors.

On the mound, Beau Blanchard earned the win with a solid six-inning outing, allowing minimal damage while keeping Lake County’s offense in check. Jimmy Romano followed with a flawless three-inning save, sealing the shutout with an efficient and dominant relief appearance.

Offensively, the Dragons received contributions across the lineup, including key RBIs from Carlos Sanchez and Carter Graham, helping the team extend its winning streak to three games.

With momentum building, Dayton looks to complete the series strong as they prepare for the finale, continuing a promising start fueled by rising talent in the Reds’ system.
